Exercise & Dance

Our lesson for subjects like history and geography only last about 15-20 minutes max or Jessica loses interest (unless it is project work, she prefers this as she can collect lots of information about the chosen subject). Between planned activites, Jessica likes to read, be read to, play on the computer, write stories and poems.   She does not play with toys much due to the nature of her disorder but she does like to arrange her toys.  She is beginning to play more imaginatively and prefers toys designed for a much younger child.  Jacob likes playing on the computer and construction toys.  His attention span is not very long at the moment so he tends to flit from one thing to another.  He loves his Thomas the Tank Engine toys but I can spend half an hour setting all his track up only to find he has broken it up 5 minutes later as he has "finished playing with it now".

Exercise & Dance includes going for a bike ride, ball skills, practising Cheerleading routines,  Learning different dance styles, We include a lot of sport and performing art activities which are important for social skills, confidence building, coordination and fitness.  These don't need to be expensive, kicking a football around the park and going for a bike ride costs nothing.
